Overview
Describing scents can be challenging, often requiring the use of metaphors and associations with feelings, objects, or scenes. Smells are dynamic, changing with time and context, and can evoke a range of emotions. Capturing elusive scents, like the smokiness of a fire, the mustiness of old books, or the crisp aroma of a damp forest, can bring vivid visual memories to life.
The Scent Catalog begins with investigating my olfactory imprints and creating a catalog centered around my daily life experiences. It then extends to sharing with others, offering customized scents triggered by their brainwave data. The catalog features 64 different scent molecules and translates them into digital shapes through emotional, spatial, and temporal dimensions.
